The Viragoes, Hippykiller and Spencer live at The Vale Bar in Glasgow

Well you see, there's this thing called the Goat Club and it takes place at The Vale Bar in Glasgow. There's also this thing called curiosity and it gets many a Bluesbunny into trouble. Would there actually be goats in attendance, for example? A question that needed to be answered. Nope, but present and correct were The Viragoes, Hippykiller and Spencer.

Spencer turned out to be one man and a guitar. My cup runneth over as the saying goes, for there are plenty of those working the circuit in Glasgow. Dressed in a cut down Santa costume that added a bit of light to his performance, he looked like he was having a good time.

Next up were Hippykiller and they proved to be a most entertaining diversion throwing in a bit of theatre (and throwing a plastic baby down the stairs as well!) to augment their polished pop songs. They are a little bit Housemartins, they are a little bit Maypops but mostly they are purveyors of intelligent, catchy songs that deserve a much wider audience. A genuine pleasure to make their acquaintance.

Last on tonight were The Viragoes. Not exactly strangers to the Bluesbunny's ears, they had also adopted fancy dress for the occasion. However nothing could disguise their ability to attract an audience's attention with "Robot Heart" and "Madame Nicotine" exuding nervous energy with quality musicianship underpinning the vocal interplay between Louise and Leeann. The Viragoes have songs that you can sing. In fact, they have songs that you want to sing and you can't really ask for more that that.
