Sonny Marvello, Louise Against the Elements and The Feuds live at Pivo Pivo in Glasgow

It must mess with your head being Doctor Who. You know, that whole time travelling thing. Have I been here before? Or has it yet to happen but you remember it happening before it happened. Thoughts like that will drive you to drink.

As it happens, The Feuds are the kind of band that makes you wonder if you have taken a walk down a time tunnel. Simple riffs, maximum volume and a punky "in yer face" attitude make a place rock like it was 1978. Again.

Taking a different direction are Louise Against the Elements. Dragging inspiration from eighties' disco, they power up a runaway train called "Rollin' in Honey" before knocking us all into shape with a new song called "Bang Bang Bang". Whilst their performance was ragged round the edges, you can't deny their appeal. Pour me another beer and I'll sing along! Yes I will. They get the applause and they certainly deserved it.

Time for the Marvello magic. Sonny Marvello are a band that has somehow managed to avoid fame. That's hard to believe when you see them. They've got the songs. They play in such a polished manner that you think that Mr Sheen manages them. Confidence and style just exude from this band. In quantity too. Word is that someone else has finally noticed their potential. See them soon before you need a credit card to pay for the tickets.

You get jaded doing reviews. Maybe it's an occupational hazard but then you see bands like Louise Against the Elements and Sonny Marvello and you feel alive again. And it's only Tuesday!
